Be sure to review the preparation instructions, and contact me if you have any questions. I'm familiar with most recording systems and am happy to walk you through the process.

Simply click on one of the "Browse..." buttons, locate the file on your computer, and click on "Upload Files" when you're ready to begin. You'll need to keep this browser window open until the transfer is complete.

If you don't have FTP software, download Filezilla for PC, or Fetch for Mac. Both are free.

Here's how the Filezilla configuration screen should look:

Afterwards, be sure to send me an e-mail to let me know about your upload! If you've uploaded a file for a test master, I'll e-mail you as soon as it's done. At that point, you can log back into the FTP site and download the mastered file.

1. Most often the problem is due to a firewall configuration issue (on your end). Check the settings, or as a last resort, consider turning off your firewall temporarily. If you are trying to transfer files from work, there is a good chance that the company network simply won't allow it. After all, you could just as easily be transferring important company documents. Check the firewall settings or contact your system administrator.

2. Look through the menus of your FTP client for a "passive mode" or "passive FTP" setting. Try enabling or disabling it.

3. Do not rely on the FTP services within a browser (Internet Explorer, Firefox, etc). They don't always work properly and can occasionally corrupt files. They also don't allow you to automatically resume broken transfers, which can be a big time-saver.

4. If you are still having problems, or need more general help, try the FTP new user guide.
